With the restaurant Stefanie in Vienna’s oldest hotel, the Hotel Stefanie, the Schick Hotels celebrate traditional upscale Viennese cuisine. The “recipe” consists of regional top-quality products, Viennese charm and tasty delicacies full of history. Where does the word “frittata” come from? What was Empress Elisabeth’s favorite ice cream? And is “Backhuhn” (fried chicken) an original Viennese dish? Guests receive answers to such questions at the elegant restaurant Stefanie. The menu offers not only Viennese classics such as “Wiener Schnitzel” and “Alt-Wiener Tafelspitz” (classic Viennese boiled beef); short anecdotes also explain the historical background of the delicacies. The “Alt-Wiener-Schmankerl-Reise” (“A Taste of Imperial Vienna”), a 7-course stroll through the cuisines of the former imperial monarchy, is especially popular. The specialties are accompanied by domestic wines and fine Austrian brandies. During the warm season, the quiet open-air dining area in the courtyard garden of the hotel also offers a pleasant atmosphere.
